What data the game stores

Rombobox has no sign-up or accounts, and it doesn't send your games to any server. To remember your progress it stores only this in your own browser (local storage):

This is essential for the game to work and cannot be used to identify you. You can delete it at any time with the button below or by clearing the site data in your browser.

Voice and microphone (“Play without seeing” mode)

In “Play without seeing” mode, the game talks using your browser's voice. Voices marked “on this device” are generated on your device; those marked “online” are generated by the browser maker on its servers, from the text the game says (positions and squares, nothing personal).

Voice control is off by default. If you turn it on, your browser will ask for permission to use the microphone and will listen only while you play without seeing, to recognize commands such as “up”. Rombobox does not record or store the audio, nor send it to any server of its own. Recognition is done by your browser: some, like Chrome, may send the audio to their maker's servers (Google, Apple or Microsoft) to recognize it. When the browser can do it on the device itself, the game uses that. You can turn it off in Preferences or revoke microphone permission in your browser at any time.

Advertising and third-party cookies

The game is free thanks to advertising from Google AdSense.

Your consent

If you visit the site from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are asked for permission through a Google-certified consent message before advertising cookies are used. If you don't accept, you can keep playing just the same; the ads you see won't be personalized. You can change your choice at any time:
